Post Title: ITC Senior Regional Planner Ghana
Duration: Until 1st April 2028 (part-time)
Location: Accra, with field missions as required
Deadline: 30th April 2025
For this position it will be necessary to work with ITC and the government of Ghana to strengthen/innovate strategic methods and tools that integrate regional planning and environmental assessment for coastal climate adaptation. With an aim to scale up interventions, such as NBSs for climate adaptation, at multiple scales across the coast of Ghana.
Knowledge
- Spatial planner and environmental scientist (PhD);
- Intimate familiarity with spatial, environmental, and economic planning actors and processes in and outside government;
- Good professional network.
Experience
- Currently holding a professor appointment at a relevant Ghanaian university;
- Approximately 15 years of work experience in the urban and environmental sector;
- Worked in at least 2 projects with international partners from the beginning until the end of these projects;
- Published in international peer reviewed journals.
Several or all of the following experiences will be beneficial:
- With existing in-country methods of spatial and environmental planning, and financing development projects;
- With multi-scale strategic spatial planning;
- With strategic environmental (and social) assessment;
- In applied research projects.
